On a stony mountain

"On a stony mountain"

Verse I

Wandering in the woods,
Bathing in yellow leaves.
Summer has gone for good
As everything always leaves.
I see a fire there,
Over the trees and the river.
I can do nothing but stare
At flowers that plaintively shiver.

Refrain:

Wild roses burn on a stony mountain,
A lonely road leads somewhere far from here.
It's like a snake, like a water fountain
That slakes my thirst and lets me feel no fear.
Dead roses stop crying, I hear,
There was no one to save them near.
There are no tears anymore.

Verse II

The flame is so bright and clear,
Dangerous hands touch the skies.
I go, my footsteps disappear,
Covered with fragments of ice.
Summer will never rise from the ashes,
These bloody leaves bury last breath of heat.
I keep on going, leaving the splashes
Of memories I don't need...

Refrain the same
