Winter
I love you less than I could ever tell you
But more than I could ever think I would
Cold winter fog with all its sultry brew
Rolls down the beach where my sand castle stood.
And raising splendid wrists in quite protest
And anger so revered, so sincere,
The sea, this trembling, fearless, reckless hostess
Has turned away from me in her despair.
The moon is dancing foxtrot on the crescents
Blue mist is hiding footsteps in the sand
And falcons of my future, past and present
Are orbiting this frozen wonderland.
I hear the call of February’s angels
I feel the breath of North Sea on my face
And overwhelmed by beauty so endless
I bow before its power and grace.
The words are easy when I say them quickly
Their sound will drown and float away with tide
And through the cries of winter brisk and prickly
Your words will echo mine inside my mind.
I want to want to stay inside your heaven
Feel pride in watching sunrise in your eyes
Yet, down here we are forever severed
Forever stopped and turned away from us.
With winter sea my arms of ice grow stronger
I own the power to lift and put away
All that which can not matter any longer
All that your lips of ice will never say.
I watch you watching me, I almost know you
Through veil of fog I recognize your hand
In silver white of early morning dew
Your eyes reflect the silver of the sand.
But more than I could ever think I would
Cold winter fog with all its sultry brew
Rolls down the beach where my sand castle stood.
And raising splendid wrists in quite protest
And anger so revered, so sincere,
The sea, this trembling, fearless, reckless hostess
