Two merry geese
My Grandma had two geese.
I remember well this:
One was grey, the other - white.
Merry geese they were. Right!
By a ditch they washed feet
At the fence of next street
Grey and white, just got off sight,
They, yesterday, by daylight.
Grandma Annie's crying:
Where are geese of mine?
Oh, I prey. Help! Where are they?
One's white, the other is grey.
Here her geese came out,
Long necks touched the ground.
Black and white they'd been all right,
Geese of hers - no doubt.
There's been too many
In my head - says Annie
- Thoughts of trouble. A lovely couple,
Just forgive your Granny.
