A Dragon-fly and an Ant

A Dragon-fly was very gay
In summer. Every sunny day
She jumped and ran, sang songs and laughed.
But summer soon was gone, it passed.

She had to look for food, you see,
And couldn’t find it under the tree,
And under the leaves there was nothing to eat.
She was so hungry, cold and weak.

She couldn’t jump, she couldn’t play,
She was too far from being gay.
She took her raincoat and her hat
And went to see her brother Ant.

"My dear Ant, please be so kind,
Let’s live together for some time.
Your house is nice and very warm
And you have got a tasty store."

"It seems to me so strange, you see…
But have you also worked with me?
I built my house from leaves and wood
In summer days, I looked for food…"

"I had no time to work indeed,
I jumped and ran and danced, you see…"
"What did you say? You sang and danced?
Well, will you dance for me at once?"
